Words of Faith

Matthew 6:30  And if God so arrays the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is cast into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, you of little faith?

Luke 22:32 But I have made petition concerning you that your faith would not fail; and you, once you have turned again, establish your brothers.

Have faith in God!

Fellow Members of the Body of Christ

Ephesians 3:6 That in Christ Jesus the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the Body and fellow partakers of the promise through the gospel

Ephesians 2:16 And might reconcile both in one Body to God through the cross, having slain the enmity by it.

Every person, tribe, tongue, nation that has believed into and received Christ not only are genuine believers, Christians, children of God, fellow heirs but fellow members of Body of Christ.  When someone is regenerated and gets saved they spontaneously become a member of the Body.  You may have heard of the Lord Jesus Christ, God, redemption, our savior, and the Church.  But have you seen the Body of Christ?  Ephesians 1:22 says that the Church is the Body of Christ.  This subject will have to a topic of another post due to its colossal nature.  No matter race, background we may have we all become members of the Body of Christ.  Even fellow members.  Two peoples may have been enemies previously but after they both experience salvation and get filled in spirit they realize they are fellow members of the Body!  Because there is no race in the Body only Christ!

The Fellow Heirs of God

Ephesians 3:6 That in Christ Jesus the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the Body and fellow partakers of the promise through the gospel

Romans 8:17 And if children, heirs also; on the one hand, heirs of God; on the other, joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him that we may also be glorified with Him.

In God’s eyes there are only two kinds of people, the Jews and the gentiles.  If you are not Jewish then you are gentile.  The Jews are God’s chosen people beginning from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob etc.  These two peoples were separated and would never have anything to do with one another.  In the New Testament both are mentioned in relation to God’s eternal purpose.  Here the gentiles are called the “fellow heirs”.  In the New Testament both the Jews and the gentiles are fellow heirs of God!  We are inheriting God himself.  Wow!  What else could you possibly want?  Enjoy being an heir!

This will be continued…

The Second Birth of Christ: In Resurrection

Romans 1:1 Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

2 Which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures,

3 Concerning His Son, who came out of the seed of David according to the flesh,

4 Who was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness out of the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord;

*Also see Acts 13:33, Psalm 2:7 for additional references.

Hope everyone had a great weekend during the holiday festivities.  Traditionally around this time of year we normally focus on the birth of Christ.  But I would like to call your attention to the second birth of Christ according the Word of God.  Christ actually had two births.  The first birth is in his humanity to bring God into man. The second birth happened after his crucifixion and during his resurrection.  In which his crucified humanity was begotten of God and brought into his divinity.  This is why Romans says that he was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness out of the resurrection of the dead Jesus Christ our Lord!  He was already the only begotten Son of God.  But after incarnation, crucifixion and resurrection he had put on human flesh which needed to be processed according to his eternal purpose.  This is also why the bible calls him the Firstborn Son of God! (Rom. 8:29, Heb. 1:6).

The Blessing of Abraham

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless those who bless you, And he who curses you I will curse; And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.

Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles out of faith, announced the gospel beforehand to Abraham: “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

Galatians 3:14 In order that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

God promised to bless Abraham but in the new testament we see what this blessing really is.  This blessing is nothing less than God himself as the Holy Spirit!  Verse 14 says that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith!  The blessing is the Spirit!  And this Spirit is for all the nations, all the peoples.  What a wonderful blessing.  What a wonderful Spirit!

LOVE GOD

Ephesians 6:24  Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in incorruptibility.

Matthew 22:37 And He said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

The Triune God according the Book of Matthew

Matthew 3:16 And having been baptized, Jesus went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming upon Him.

17 And behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I have found My delight.

Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

There are not three separate Gods!  But one mysterious God who has revealed himself in the bible.  When Jesus was baptized the Spirit came upon him as a dove and the Father spoke from the heavens.  So you have the Son in the water, the Spirit descending, and the Father speaking from the heavens.  This can be quite confusing to the natural mind.  But we have to see the revelation of God from the entire scripture and not understand any one passage in isolation.  Matthew 28:19 tells us that after the Lord was crucified and resurrected he appeared to his disciples and gave them a wonderful commission to disciple the nations, baptizing them into the name (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit!  Here there is only one name for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit denoting his true nature of oneness!  However, to God there are three aspects to his person which is not so easy for us to understand.  Having said that, he still has only one name signifying person.  A person’s name is the person himself.  If I say your name, hey Ryan, I’m talking to you because that’s who you are.  So to baptize the nations into this name is to baptize them into the person of the Triune God!  Into a marvelous mysterious union with God himself!  How awesome is that!

The Lord’s Second Coming: The Coming of the Son of Man

Matthew 24:27 For just as the lightning comes forth from the east and shines to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.

28 Wherever the corpse is, there will the vultures be gathered together.

29 And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

30 And at that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

The Lord Jesus came to us in his incarnation the first time (John 1:14).  However he will come again a second time to the earth!  The traditional concept is that we go to heaven.  But the bible is emphatic concerning God coming to the earth, a second time.  This is spoken of in Matthew 24:27-30 which is the open coming of the Lord to the earth after the great tribulation during which he will be manifested for all to see.  And concerning the Lord’s second coming there are two aspects.  Open and secret coming.  The aspect of the secret coming will be the topic of another post.

I love these verses!  It says the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the land will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  WOW! What a wonderful sight that will be!  All the tribes refer to the jews in the holy land who will repent and turn to the Lord which will be discussed in another post as well.

COME LORD JESUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Holy Spirit as the Pledge of Our Inheritance

13 In whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, in Him also believing, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise,

14 Who is the pledge of our inheritance unto the redemption of the acquired possession, to the praise of His glory.

Praise the Lord for the gospel!  The good news!  We’ll I have nothing but good news today.  And that is the Holy Spirit as the pledge of our inheritance.  This pledge is a foretaste, a downpayment or guarantee of the full payment!  We will inherit God in full, but the pledge, the foretaste is the Holy Spirit!  Wonderful.

We must all stand before the Judgement Seat of Christ

Romans 14:10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God,

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all be manifested before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done through the body according to what he has practiced, whether good or bad.

Romans 14:12 So then each one of us will give an account concerning himself to God.

Every believer must stand before the judgement seat of Christ concerning his life after he/she were saved.  Concerning our living, our work, our words and all the things done through the body whether good or bad!  How sobering!  This has been the most sobering matter since I have been a Christian.  Knowing that one day I will have to personally give an account to God.

This is a serious warning to us!
