Out from the Head

EPHESIANS 4:16 Out from whom all the Body, being joined together and being knit together through every joint of the rich supply and through the operation in the measure of each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up itself in love.

Good news everybody! I’m BACK!  Praise God!

But the better news is the word of God, so here it is.  If you see the verse above its Ephesians 4:16.  I’ve really been enjoying this verse of late.  Different parts having been sticking out.  First, we as believers are what the bible calls the Body of Christ. Christ is the Head, and ALL the believers are members of the body of Christ.  Verse 15 speaks of Christ as the Head then verse 16 begins with “Out from whom”.  The Body is out from Christ as the source.  Anything that does not have its source in Christ is not the Body.  Furthermore, one of the rich phrases in verse 16 reveals the Body is being joined together and knit together.  HOW RICH IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no hint of division, divisiveness, independence, isolation or separation.  How awesome!  The problem does not lie with the truth. Or our apparent disagreement of interpretation.  Our problem is not practicing the truth as revealed in Ephesians 4:15.  Holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ….In other words, we don’t take Christ as our Head, our source, in all things.  So what we have is the default.  The fallen human nature infested with the sinful nature of the devil. Where separations and divisions are abundant.  There is no shortage there.  But praise the Lord for THE BODY!!  THE JOINING AND THE KNITTING OUT FROM THE HEAD!

Daily Contact with Christ

Acts 9:10 And there was a certain disciple in Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

I have learned today that we should never let anything replace our experience of Christ.  Whether it be a teaching, a concept, or even a past experience of Christ.  We should have a direct contact with him on a daily basis.  Rather than learn a bunch of teachings and apply them to our situations.  We need the apostle’s teaching and fellowship, but we should not try to apply the mere teachings to ourselves apart from the Lord.  This will only make us religious.  We need daily contact with Lord!  And apply him in all things!

Who is Christ?

Colossians 2:8-9  Beware that no one carries you off as spoil through his philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the elements of the world, and not according to Christ; For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily,

Colossians 1:19  For in Him all the fullness was pleased to dwell

Anyone ever wonder who Christ is?  Surely the world is full of inquiring minds. I still ask myself this question, Who is he?  If you’ve ever been to a big city you realize that it takes time to do some sightseeing.  You can’t see everything in one day.  It is the same with the Lord.  We need to go on a sightseeing tour to discover all the aspects of our wonderful Christ!  First he is the embodiment of the Triune God.   That simply means that in his being he embodies God the Father, Son, and Spirit.  God dwells in him bodily.  This refers to his incarnation.  God now dwells within a human being, Christ.  So when you see Christ you see the Triune God.  When you receive Christ you receive the whole Triune God!  Wow.

How is God revealed?

Matthew 11:27   All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one fully knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully know the Father except the Son and him to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.

Matthew 16:16-17   And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.  And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in the heavens.

Most people would agree that God is mysterious.  Yet he doesn’t want to remain a mystery to us.  He wants to be made known.  But how would you suppose that God is made known?  Well, the answer is quite simple.  He reveals himself.  The answer is simple yet profound.  Why?  Because our God is Triune!  That means he is three and one at the same time (search earlier posts or tune in for more details).   He is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  You cannot know the Son of God unless the Father reveals him to you.  neither can you know the Father unless the Son reveals him to you.  Awesome huh?  Awesome indeed!  Tune in for more to come….

Become like little Children

Matthew 18:1 In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?

2 And He called a little child to Him and stood him in their midst

3 And said, Truly I say to you, Unless you turn and become like little children, you shall by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

4 He therefore who will humble himself like this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.

Thank God for little children!  The Lord told us unless we turn and become like little children we shall by no means enter into the kingdom of the heavens.  Little children are humble, simple and not complicated.  They are not contemplating the meaning of the universe nor are they self conscious or anxious.  Their main concern is where is the food!  I’m hungry already!  They just eat, sleep and poop.  Life is simple.  We need to be simple  like little children.  We need to eat (enjoy) the Lord (John 6:57) and he will be our real rest (Psa. 23).

Christ a Light to the Gentiles and the Glory of Israel

Luke 2:30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation,

31 Which You have prepared before the face of all the peoples,

32 A light for revelation to the Gentiles and the glory of Your people Israel.

Acts 13:46 And Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly and said, It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first. Since you thrust it away and do not judge yourselves worthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

47 For so the Lord has commanded us, “I have set you as a light of the Gentiles, that you would be for salvation unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

48 And the Gentiles, hearing this, rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord; and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

These are some verses I have been enjoying recently.  The above verses are a quotation from Isaiah 49:6, where Christ is prophesied to be a light for the gentiles and the glory of his people Israel.  Since the jews had rejected Christ as the savior he and the apostles turned to the gentiles that the salvation of God would reach the entire earth!  Awesome!

Believing unto Righteousness

Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to everyone who believes.

9 That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

10 For with the heart there is believing unto righteousness, and with the mouth there is confession unto salvation.

Romans 4:3 For what does the Scripture say? “And Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him as righteousness.”

Genesis 15:6 And he believed Jehovah, and He accounted it to him as righteousness.

*I Apologize to everyone for not posting in a while.  We had a death in the family last week and had to take care of some things.

Where would we be without Romans chapter 10?  The christian life would be quite different.  But thank God for this chapter in the bible!  In the old testament in order to be right with God you had to follow or keep the ten commandments.  If you did so you were righteous.  However in the New Testament faith in Christ is the requirement to be right with God.  That’s why Romans 10 tells us that Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to everyone who believes.  Praise the lord for Christ!
