Splendid Salvation

1 Peter 1:2 Chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father in the sanctification of the Spirit unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.

Ephesians 1:4 Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and without blemish before Him in love,

We were chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, and this was unto the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ.   This is the operation of the Divine Trinity to  bring us into his full salvation.  Have you ever realized that your salvation is carried out, applied by the Trinity?  What kind of God do you have?  Well, the bible definitely reveals that God is triune.  Which means that he is one and three at the same time!  Lol! We were selected by the Father, but this selection is carried out, applied by the Spirit coming to sanctify us.  To separate us unto God from everything else.  This result of this sanctifying is that we repent, believe into Christ and his redemption.  This is the obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ God the Son.  So you have all three involved in bringing sinners into his full salvation. Splendid!

The Fellowship of the Holy Spirit

2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit.

Fellowship means a joint participation, mutual participation.  A mutual sharing of something in common.  So what do we have in common?  The Holy Spirit!  We all have become partakers of the Holy Spirit.  This can be likened to the circulation in the blood of the human body.  All the members of your body partake of the “fellowship of the blood”.  They all share the same supply.  And through that supply they all function and are made one.  Marvelous!  Enjoy the Holy Spirit Today!

Romans the Gospel of God

Romans 1:1 Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Yet if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Him.

10 But if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, the spirit is life because of righteousness.

The entire book of Romans was considered the Gospel of God by the Apostle Paul.  He even said he as a slave of Christ Jesus, a called apostle, was separated unto the gospel of God.  The whole reason for his being called by God and being a slave was altogether for the gospel of God!  Have you ever considered Romans as the gospel?  Paul did.  There is Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and then there is Romans.  Romans is a whole different beast.  For Romans speaks of the Christ who has already been crucified and become the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45; Rom. 8:9-10).  Furthermore this “gospel” of Romans speaks of the Christ who as the Spirit  entered into the believers to be their subjective savior.  Wow!  The Spirit dwells within us!  (Rom.8:9).

The Blessing of Abraham

Genesis 12:3 And I will bless those who bless you, And he who curses you I will curse; And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.

Galatians 3:8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles out of faith, announced the gospel beforehand to Abraham: “In you shall all the nations be blessed.”

Galatians 3:14 In order that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

God promised to bless Abraham but in the new testament we see what this blessing really is.  This blessing is nothing less than God himself as the Holy Spirit!  Verse 14 says that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith!  The blessing is the Spirit!  And this Spirit is for all the nations, all the peoples.  What a wonderful blessing.  What a wonderful Spirit!

The Holy Spirit as the Pledge of Our Inheritance

13 In whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation, in Him also believing, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise,

14 Who is the pledge of our inheritance unto the redemption of the acquired possession, to the praise of His glory.

Praise the Lord for the gospel!  The good news!  We’ll I have nothing but good news today.  And that is the Holy Spirit as the pledge of our inheritance.  This pledge is a foretaste, a downpayment or guarantee of the full payment!  We will inherit God in full, but the pledge, the foretaste is the Holy Spirit!  Wonderful.

SPECIAL EDITION: The Believers Experience of the Two Aspects of the One Spirit

I. THE HOLY SPIRIT ESSENTIALLY FOR LIFE

John 20:21 Then Jesus said to them again, Peace be to you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.

John 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed into them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who indwells you.

II.  THE SPIRIT UPON THE BELIEVERS IS PROMISED

Luke 24:49 And behold, I send forth the promise of My Father upon you; but as for you, stay in the city until you put on power from on high.

Acts 1:5 For John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days from now.

Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

III.  THE FULFILLMENT OF THE PROMISE OF THE OUTPOURED SPIRIT UPON THE BELIEVERS

Acts 2:1 And as the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, they were all together in the same place.

2 And suddenly there was a sound out of heaven, as of a rushing violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which were distributed; and it sat on each one of them;

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, even as the Spirit gave to them to speak forth.

32 This Jesus God has raised up, of which we all are witnesses.

33 Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, He has poured out this which you both see and hear.

When the Lord Jesus was physically on the earth he had promised the coming of the Holy Spirit to his disciples (maybe I’ll write about this in another post).  Then shortly after Jesus rose from the dead he appeared to his disciples and he breathed into them and said receive the Holy Spirit.  At this point they had received the Holy Spirit into them for their experience of Christ as life essentially.  The Lord promised the Spirit to be poured out  upon them that would baptize/immerse them for their ministry, their work.  This is the Spirit of Power.   These are two aspects of the one Spirit!  The Spirit of life essentially for our living and the Spirit of power upon us for our ministry.  Lastly, the Spirit of power is not upon any individual or person independent of God or more importantly individualistic of the Body of Christ.  For this Spirit was poured out, and is upon the entire Body of Christ!  So we have to right with God and absolutely right with the members of the Body of Christ which is composed of every genuine believer on the planet!

The Lord Jesus Christ experienced two aspects of the Holy Spirit

Matthew 1:20 But while he pondered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife, for that which has been begotten in her is of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore also the holy thing which is born will be called the Son of God.

Luke 3:22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form as a dove upon Him. And a voice came out of heaven: You are My Son, the Beloved; in You I have found My delight.

Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee. And reports about Him went out through all the surrounding region.
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed,
The Lord Jesus from his birth had the Holy Spirit within him essentially for his life and living. His source within was the Holy Spirit.  Then at the time of his baptism he was anointed with the Holy Spirit upon him for his ministry.  These are two aspects of the one Spirit.  One is for life essentially and the other is for work, ministry, of power.
