What is Christ doing today?

Ephesians 3:16 That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit into the inner man

17  That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

What Christ is doing today is making his home deep down in our hearts.  In our mind, emotion, and will.  Lord, make our your home!!

Christ in you

Colossians 1:26 The mystery which has been hidden from the ages and from the generations but now has been manifested to His saints;

27 To whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

God’s economy is to have Christ in you!

The Revelation of the Son of God

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Barjona, because flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in the heavens.

Galatians 1:15 But when it pleased God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace,

16 To reveal His Son in me that I might announce Him as the gospel among the Gentiles, immediately I did not confer with flesh and blood,

After the Lord took his disciples far away from Jerusalem from it religious influence he asked them a question.  Who do men say that I am?  Some said Elijah or one of the prophets.  He then asked them, but you who do you say that I am?  Peter answered in Matthew 16:16 that he was the Christ, the Son of the living God!  Wow.  This was an objective revelation to Peter from the Father.  But in Galatians 1 after Paul had been converted to Christ, believed into and received Christ said something quite striking.  He mentions that God would reveal the Son not to him, but in him.  After we have received the Lord within us we need subjective revelation.

The Revealing Spirit

1 Corinthians 2:9  But as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not come up in man’s heart; things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

10 But to us God has revealed them through the Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

Thank the Lord for the Spirit!  We have the Spirit of God! All of the children of God have the Spirit of God even dwelling within them.  This Spirit reveals to us the things prepared by God for our enjoyment!

Abraham’s seed

Galatians 3:7 Know then that they who are of faith, these are sons of Abraham.

Galatians 3:16 But to Abraham were the promises spoken and to his seed. He does not say, “And to the seeds,” as concerning many, but as concerning one: “And to your seed,” who is Christ.

Galatians 3:29 And if you are of Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise.

There is only one seed.  And the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.  Christ is the seed and we are Abraham’s seed by virtue of being joined to Christ!

The Church as the Body of Christ

Ephesians 1:22 And He subjected all things under His feet and gave Him to be Head over all things to the church,

23 Which is His Body, the fullness of the One who fills all in all.

Colossians 1:18 And He is the Head of the Body, the church; He is the beginning, the Firstborn from the dead, that He Himself might have the first place in all things;

24 I now rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf and fill up on my part that which is lacking of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for His Body, which is the church;

Christ is “Capital A”  Awesome and so is the church because the church is His Body!  A living organic Body and not merely an assembly of believers gathered together.  This Body has Christ as it’s life!  Every genuine believer has Christ as their life.  In this life there is the fellowship, the oneness of all the believers.  Just like there is the flow of blood in our physical bodies to all of its members so it is the same in the Body of Christ.  Actually this life makes us members of the living Body of Christ.  WOWSERS!  THE CHURCH IS HIS BODY!

Christ’s Death was for Her

Ephesians 5:25  Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her

Matthew 13:45  Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like a merchant seeking fine pearls

46 And finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Did Christ die for you or for her?  The answer is yes!  On one hand he died for us and the other he died for the Church the “her”.  Actually his dying for us is his dying  for the Church.  And “her” is collectively all the believers corporately as the Church.  So on the one hand it is individual, but on the other it is corporate for Christ had the Church in view when he died!  He saw her!  He gave himself up for her!  He found the pearl of great value and sold all he had and bought it.    Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
