Forgiveness

Matthew 18:21-22  Then Peter came and said to Him, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?  Jesus said to him, I do not say to you, Up to seven times, but, Up to seventy times seven.

Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men their offenses, your heavenly Father will forgive you also; But if you do not forgive men their offenses, neither will your Father forgive your offenses.

Forgiveness is a virtue  🙂

Don’t love the Darkness

John 3:17-19 For God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.  He who believes into Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed into the name of the only begotten Son of God.  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil.

The Light has come into the world, don’t love the darkness!

What do you have to do with Resurrection? …Alot!

Ephesians 2:4-6 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, Even when we were dead in offenses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) And raised us up together with Him and seated us together with Him in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus,

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has regenerated us unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

God made us alive together with Christ in his resurrection and at the same time regenerated us through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead!  So when Christ was raised we were too!  In his resurrection Christ was born the firstborn Son of God (Acts 13:33, Rom. 8:29) and we were born the many sons of God simultaneously in one gigantic delivery!

Special Edition: Christ is both the Only Begotten Son and Firstborn Son of God

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes into Him would not perish, but would have eternal life.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us (and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and reality.

Acts 13:32-33  And we announce to you the gospel of the promise made to the fathers, That God has fully fulfilled this promise to us their children in raising up Jesus, as it is also written in the second Psalm, “You are My Son; this day have I begotten You.”

Romans 1:3-4  Concerning His Son, who came out of the seed of David according to the flesh, Who was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness out of the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord;

According to his dual status, Christ has both the divine nature as well as the human nature.  According to his divine nature he was, is, and always will be the Only Begotten Son of God.  However, we cannot share in this sonship as it is reserved for God alone and is part of the Godhead.  According to the bible, Christ is also the Firstborn Son of God who was born on the day of his resurrection in his humanity.  This was prophesied in the Old Testament in Psalms 2:7 and quoted in the New Testament in Acts 13:33, Hebrews 1:5.  It is because of Christ’s glorified humanity in resurrection we can also be sons of God by believing into Christ (John 1:12-13).  tomorrow will continue with the details of the Resurrection of Christ.  In particular our participation !  🙂

Details of the Resurrection Part 2: The Firstborn Son of God

John 21:16-17 Jesus said to her, Mary! She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, Rabboni! (which means Teacher).  Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them, I ascend to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.

Romans 8:28-29  And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.  Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers;

In resurrection Christ became the Firstborn Son of God with many brothers!  Details in the coming days 🙂

Details of the Resurrection of Christ (part 1)

Luke 24:46 And He said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise up from the dead on the third day,

John 20:9 For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that He had to rise from among the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:45 So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul”; the last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:17 And the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

In his resurrection Christ became the Life-giving Spirit to impart life into us 🙂

Resurrection of Christ (part 2)

Acts 2:22-24  Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man shown by God to you to be approved by works of power and wonders and signs, which God did through Him in your midst, even as you yourselves know –This man, delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you, through the hand of lawless men, nailed to a cross and killed; Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pangs of death, since it was not possible for Him to be held by it.

1 Corinthians 54-55  And when this corruptible will put on incorruption and this mortal will put on immortality, then the word which is written will come to pass, “Death has been swallowed up unto victory.”  Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?

After Christ entered into death, he conquered it and defeated it!
