The Author of Life

Acts 3:13  The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

14 But you denied the holy and righteous One and asked that a man who was a murderer be granted to you;

15 And the Author of life you killed, whom God has raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses.

The Apostle Peter in speaking the rich gospel of Christ to the Jews spoke of him being the Author of Life.  I have been enjoying this title of the Lord all week.  Wow, He is the very Author of life.  That word means the originator  author, origin or chief captain.  The Jews had the Author of life crucified yet God raised him from the dead!  How awesome is that!

Searching the Scriptures and not Coming to the Lord

John 5:39 You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is these that testify concerning Me.

40 Yet you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

In section of the word the pharisees were knowledgeable in the scriptures and even searched the scriptures.  But the Lord told them that it was the scriptures that testified concerning him and that they were unwilling to come to him that they may have life.  The Pharisees knew the word but they did not seek, nor desire Christ whatsoever.  It was like the Lord was telling them, Hey I’m here the one you have been reading about all these years!  Hello! Don’t you get it?  But no, they didn’t.  They were unwilling to come to the Lord.  This presents a great problem.  Number one they were imbalanced wanting just dead doctrines void of the reality of Christ.  They missed out on Christ, their salvation, the very one whom they had supposedly been waiting for.  This is the greatest tragedy.   Of course this can apply to anyone one of us today.  We may read the word of God and be very knowledgeable.  But do we come to the Lord in prayer?  Do we know the Lord?  Seek him?  We must not be unturned cakes.  Cooked on one side but the other is quite raw.  May the Lord have mercy on us!  To keep us balanced in the word and in prayer to seek the Lord.

The Resurrection and the Life

John 11:17 Then when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days.

18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about fifteen stadia away.

19 And many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother.

20 Martha therefore, when she heard that Jesus was coming, went to meet Him; but Mary sat in the house.

21 Then Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.

22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.

23 Jesus said to her, Your brother will rise again.

24 Martha said to Him, I know that he will rise again in the resurrection in the last day.

25 Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes into Me, even if he should die, shall live;

26 And every one who lives and believes into Me shall by no means die forever. Do you believe this?

The Lord Jesus Christ is the resurrection and the life!  What is the difference between the two?  Resurrection implies death and that there has been some attack.  If there is no death there can be no resurrection.   So Lazarus dying afforded the Lord the opportunity to reveal himself as the resurrection life!  There will be a resurrection in the future as a promise.  But what the Lord was trying to tell Mary was that he presently “IS” resurrection.  Resurrection is a person!  Christ himself!  Even before he was crucified.  Simply amazing!

Marvelous Transformation

Romans 12:2 And do not be fashioned according to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the emind that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well pleasing and perfect.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit.

Transformation is part of our organic salvation when we believe into Christ, receive eternal life, and begin to experience this life within us.  What does it do?  It transforms us into the image of Christ from one degree of glory to another degree of glory.  So you don’t have to try to express God in yourself.  A child does not have to exert much effort to try to look, act like their parents.  For this is according to the life they have received.  They are simply born, grow, then spontaneously they express mom and dad, act like mom and dad.  The life that we have received is very active.  It is busy Transforming us day by day!  Whew hew!

Justification is unto Life to all men

Romans 5:8-9  But God commends His own love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us Much more then, having now been justified in His blood, we will be saved through Him from the wrath.

Romans 5:18 So then as it was through one offense unto condemnation to all men, so also it was through one righteous act unto justification of life to all men.

We have been justified in the blood of Christ!  And this Justification is unto “Life”.  It is for the purpose of our receiving, possessing, living, and enjoying the eternal life! Whew!

Judicial Redemption & Organic Salvation

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and may have it abundantly.

John 3:15 That every one who believes into Him may have eternal life.

Romans 5:10 For if we, being enemies, were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more we will be saved in His life, having been reconciled,

There are two aspects to our salvation.  Judicial and organic.  Judicially, Christ died for our sins and reconciled us to God through his death on the cross.  This was just the procedure to not only give us eternal life but be saved much more in his life!!!! Enjoy the much more salvation!
